Social media is, simply put, a way of life for the new Generation Z. Growing up with the internet at hand has made websites like Facebook and Twitter not only an option for entertainment, but almost a necessary addition to the social lexicon. While these social media websites will always rotate in and out of fashion, they’ll never truly leave. So where does that leave room for new companies? The answer is simple: there is room for a company that is willing to try something new in order to innovate. Flipora, a social media based browsing application, has been rising up through the cracks and is now set to make a giant push toward iOS software and the next wave of their expansion.

Flipora was established in Los Angeles a few years ago and since then it has rapidly grown into one of the biggest social discovery engines on the internet. If you aren’t familiar with the application then you can compare it to something like StumbleUpon. StumbleUpon is a social discovery engine that puts users in front of new content that they would otherwise never have the opportunity to see. Flipora does things a little bit differently, however, and that is what will set them apart. Let’s talk about the AI Discovery Engine that has been gaining so much praise.

So content curation on the internet is pretty simple at this point in time. You can find new content by subscribing to aggregate websites like Reddit or Digg, or you can rely on friends sharing links via their social media website of choice. What Flipora does is combine both of those ideas into an app that is driven by artificial intelligence. Users install the Flipora app into their browser of choice, or download it onto their iPhone, and from there commence browsing as normal. In the background the AI engine collects your search history and uploads it into the Flipora cloud. Once in the cloud the engine indexes all of the data before sending it back to the users. Like minded users will have websites cross suggested straight into their browser. From there you can seamlessly flick through the suggestions, rating them along the way.

With Flipora steadily rising behind CEO Vijay Krishnan and Jonathan Siddharth, we might be looking at the next big thing on the internet. Savvy investors of other tech brands have already put their money down behind Flipora.
